Ever have really bad service at a restaurant. I did just the other night. Was sat at the smallest table with my wife and my 1 year old. Had to sit our son back six inches from the table so he couldn't reach anything. Before that they attempted to seat us at a raised table with our son sitting on a stack of three high chairs so wobbly I'm suprised no child has fallen and sued the restaurant out of existence yet. When my wife's food arrived it was wrong and the server left without offering to fix the error. By the time her food was corrected I was nearly done and our sons food was cold. Our waitress walked by the table 4 times without offering to refill a drink or ask how our food was. Left the smallest tip I have left in a year. Wrote a note on the receipt as to why too. Hope the manager sees that.
Of course, some people don't even make it to the table before they have bad service. What's your worst experience?
Wikipes is a wiki based recipe site. Wiki's are community contributed sites.
In other words, we allow anyone to contribute recipes. Our feeling is that this will create a more diverse collection of unique and delicious recipes and in the long run you’ll be able to choose from a vast archive of drinks, appetizers, main dishes, desserts; the possibilities are endless!
Looks like this has possibilities. For instance try the Egg McMornin in the Quickies recipe section. Try it out and let me know what you think.

Searching through recent reviews on Epionions I found this one for Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian Resort. V&A is the only 5 star restaurant in central Florida. I have dined at it once, on my honeymoon, and totally concur with this reviewer. Price has gone up a bit in the last few years, but it's obvious the taste and service hasn't suffered at all. If you're a serious foodie or a serious Disney fan you should make a point of visiting V&As during your next Disney World trip.

Sometimes you look at an idea that seems so simple, so straight forward you wonder why no one had thought of it before. It was that way for me with Goodiesblog.com. The blog sends out letters to manufacturers asking for free samples then reviews and rates the items they receive based on their 'significance' (although that term remains mostly undefined). The first item received -- a box of Old Orchard juices.
Free stuff just for writing. Now why didn't I think of that?
I'm back! Did you miss me?
Took a little longer for our great road trip than we had originally planned. Took even longer for my computer to show up on a moving truck. But we're back. I'm about 7 pounds heavier from all the eating some of the best, and worst, road food we could find. I'll go into each stop in greater detail later, but I thought I would mention that all those who said the City Market in Luling, Tx (not those copy cats down the street or in Houston) is the best BBQ in the state would have no problem passing a polygraph test. If you're within a hundred miles you owe it to your taste buds to take a detour. Just watch out for State Patrolman Villeneueva as you hit the highway out of town, but that's a story for another day or another blog.
Yeah, I know technically it's not yet spring. But never the less I'm taking a vacation from blogging, email, and the like, until March 6th or 7th. Most of this time will be consumed with The Frost's Great American Roadtrip (tm) as we pick up from Las Vegas, NV (well Henderson really) and relocate to Orlando, FL.
It's going to be a ton of fun and I look forward to blogging it. One of my aims this trip is to only eat at places that are locally owned. I want to hit some of the best roadside food along the route and have been doing a lot of research to find the best.
I thank you for the time you've spent visiting FoodRelish and hope you'll return when I do. In the meantime do check out the RoadFood.com forums for the latest in roadside food information. It's been very useful in my research.
It's after midnight, you're travelling away from home and you want to find a hip location to explore your lunar food cravings, then you need Lunarama an online compendium of late night restaurants and joints. I definately plan to use this on my upcoming cross-country drive.
On of the biggest disappointments in fine dining I've ever suffered through was a circa 1995 night at La Cirque in NYC (a location that has now closed apparently). Everyone else enjoyed their meals, (although the Palenta and Mole appetizer was quite bland) but I selected the mushroom risotto; a dish that had no taste, the consistancy of elmer's glue, and a greyish brown color that reminded me of dirt. Since then I have been on the hunt for a great basic risotto recipe that has plenty of taste, a pleasurable texture, and some sort of attractive color. It's been a rough journey.
The one I've been using recently is from Chef Giada De Laurentiis host of Everyday Italian on FoodTV . I've made it with and without white wine (I prefer it without) and my best result was using Romano instead of Parmasean cheese. It tasted richer and the cheese aroma was lovely.
I just found one at Jamie Oliver's (what ever happened to him anyway? he just dropped out of sight) website. It suggests using vermouth in place of wine. Can't wait to try that. Are there any others out there you would suggest?
Finding joy in one's life is always a crucial part of healthy living. For me cooking, fine dining, and sharing those wonderful moments with friends and family brings me plenty of joy. I have never really considered myself a particularly talented chef (although I've been told I am one) or a true gourmand (I'm not educated enough in the food arts), just someone who liked food. In today's parlance, that makes me a foodie; a title I'm not uncomfortable with.
At FoodRelish you will find all the aspects of food that I relish, including but not limited too, links to other wonderful foodblogs, pointers to online resources, restaurant reviews, lessons in cooking, cooking show commentary, and recipes. I am in the process of moving from Las Vegas to Orlando, so my reviews will tend to gravitate in that direction.
So for now, sit back, relax and pull up a chair as we proudly present... FoodRelish.
Merci.
